Bridal Gown
This happy bridal party is from the late 1930s. The bride’s gown is made of shimmery satin and reaches to the ground. The top of her sleeve is a large puff, with lower part slim and to her wrist. Her neckline is a modified “V” with 2 decorative horizontal straps filling in the space.
If you have read the FREE 10 Wedding Ideas from Vintage Brides ebook, you would know that this dress is a Triangular shape. You can see how this shape compares to other bridal dress shapes in the ebook.
Bridal Headpiece & Bouquet

The bride’s headpiece is a crown decorated with rows of pearls. The long net veil is attached to the back. It replaces the train that was once the long back of the gown. The bride’s bouquet is made of long-stemmed Calla Lilies held together with a large white satin ribbon bow.
Bridesmaids Dresses

The light colored bridesmaids’ dresses are made of chiffon. The top is gathered over the bust line with a flat piece just above the waistline. The neckline is straight across from arm to arm, decorated by a fluffy gathered ruffle and dark ribbon bows. There are 2 straps over the shoulder to hold the top up. The bridesmaids’ sleeves are large, short puffs. Their gathered skirts reach to the ground.
Bridesmaids’ Headpieces

On their heads, the bridesmaids wear small headpieces made of gathered netting that creates a flat disk with a dark bow in the center. The bridesmaids’ bouquets are very dark in the picture. The flowers might have been dark red roses. The bouquets are large and packed with flowers, and very little greenery.
