This Bridal Party was photographed in Chicago, IL in the mid-1930s.
Bridal Gown

The bride’s gown is an ankle-length white satin similar in style to the bridesmaids’ dresses. Her dress has a scooped neckline. It is difficult to see more of her dress because her bouquet is so large.
If you have read the 10 Wedding Ideas from Vintage Brides ebook, you would know that this dress is a Rectangle shape. During the 1930 the rectangular shape from the 1920s started to soften and widen a bit at the bottom. You can see how this shape compared to the other bridal dress shapes in the ebook.

Bridal Cap & Veil

The bride’s veil is a lace cap that fits close around her face. Her lace edged veil is attached to the bottom edge of this cap. The veil is very long, creating a train.
Bridesmaids Dresses

The bridesmaids’ dresses are a light-colored satin. The dresses are sleeveless with a scooped neckline. The ankle-length skirts have a diagonal seam running from the right hip to the left ankle, giving the skirt a unique drape. This kind of unusual seaming was common during the 1930s, allowing the beauty and drape of the fabric to be the focus. On the left shoulder is a rounded, flat bow shape with white beads or rhinestones on the edge. On the right hip, this motif is repeated with a similar large flat bow edged with beads or rhinestones.
Bridesmaids Headdresses

The bridesmaids’ headdresses are a band of colored netting or chiffon gathered on both edges. They have a net poof, with rhinestones or sequins, on the side of the head. A section of netting running from the poof, under the chin, is draped over the shoulder.
Bridal Bouquet

The bridal bouquet is very large. It has a large Star Lily in the middle surrounded by roses and some other small flowers and fern fronds. The bouquet has a “waterfall” of ribbons with white flower buds tied on.
Bridesmaids’ Bouquet

The bouquet’s the bridesmaids are carrying are also large. Both have 2 dozen roses with fern fronds and a wide sheer bow.
Groom & Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen wear dark, 3-piece suits with small boutonnieres.
