At the end of the 1940s, women’s dress designs evolved into the classic 1950s style, with a form-fitting bodice, natural waistline, and full skirt. A style that was very flattering to a woman’s curves.
Bridal Gown
This lovely bride is from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Her shiny white satin dress has a large open scoop neckline emphasized by a satin collar with embroidery decoration. The open neckline is filled in with a sheer netting for modesty. The bride’s bodice has the form-fitting style typical of this time period. The full satin skirt is box pleated to the waistline. The shimmery sleeves are long.
If you could see all of the bride’s dress, you would see that it is a Triangular shape. The FREE 10 Wedding Ideas from Vintage Brides ebook can show you more wedding gown shapes.
Bridal Headpiece

Our bride’s headpiece is tightly pleated and starched netting creating a ruffle that stands up on her head. Her hip length veil is attached to the back of this ruffle.
Bridal Bouquet

The bride’s bouquet consists of 3 large orchids surrounded by branches with small flowers.
